World Eskimo-Indian Olympics       Fairbanks, Alaska
Come join us for the largest celebration of indigenous culture in Alaska – The World Eskimo-Indian Olympics (WEIO)! The World Eskimo-Indian Olympics (WEIO) brings together the native people of the circumpolar area to test their knowledge of traditional skills and values in friendly athletic activities such as the Two Foot High Kick or the “Nalukataq” Blanket Toss and in many more diverse events such as the Native Baby Regalia contest and the Miss WEIO Pageant. Since 1961, WEIO, our community gathering of all ages, has not only promoted and preserved Eskimo and Indian culture but also actively encouraged Alaskan Native youth to lead drug and alcohol free lives.
